Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how Folio Premium billing works, how to cancel, and when you can ask for a refund. We've tried to keep it short and fair. Folio is operated by Akira Takashima, a sole proprietor based in Alberta, Canada ("Folio", "we", "us", "our").

Try before you pay

You don't need a subscription — or even an account — to get a feel for Folio. One classic is free every single day: pick any title you like, listen to the whole thing, and come back tomorrow for another. We'd encourage you to use those free days to decide whether Premium is right for you before you ever enter a payment detail.

Your 7-day free trial

Folio Premium starts with a 7-day free trial. During the trial you have full access to every title and you are not charged. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. If you don't cancel, the trial converts into a paid annual subscription at USD $24.99/year and renews each year until you cancel.

Cancel anytime

You can cancel whenever you want, right from the app:

Cancelling stops all future renewals — you won't be billed again. Your Premium access stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then simply lapses back to the free "one classic a day" experience. There's nothing to delete and no penalty for leaving.

Refunds

Folio Premium is a digital subscription delivered immediately, so as a general rule we don't provide partial-period refunds once a billing period has begun — when you cancel, you keep access through the time you've paid for.

That said, we want you to feel good about Folio. As a good-faith promise: if you're charged and you're genuinely unsatisfied, email us within 14 days of that charge and we'll review your request and, in most cases, refund it. We read every message ourselves.

How to request a refund

Email hello@folioclassics.com from, or referencing, the email address you used at checkout. A quick note about what went wrong helps us help you faster. We'll get back to you, and any approved refund is returned to your original payment method via Stripe.

A note on chargebacks

If something's wrong with a charge, please reach out to us first at hello@folioclassics.com — it's almost always faster than a bank dispute, and we're happy to sort it out directly. Opening a chargeback before contacting us can lock your subscription while the dispute is investigated, which slows things down for everyone.

Your statutory rights

None of the above limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law, including the consumer protection laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada. Where the law gives you a right to a refund or cancellation, this policy does not take it away.
